What is FIPS Cryptography?
FIPS stands for the Federal Information Processing Standard established by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), for use in computer systems for the purpose of ensuring security and interoperability through data encryption. This encryption utilizes government-tested cryptography implemented in the transmission of data.

The CR2700 is Code’s fourth-generation healthcare barcode reader, combining nearly twenty years of market experience with new features to improve patient care. The CR2700 introduces Bluetooth® 5 to healthcare scanning—increasing data transmission security. By implementing a low-energy radio, Code has extended the battery life to minimize downtime during shifts. A built-in gauge tells users when it's time to change the battery, which can quickly be swapped for a fresh one, getting nurses right back to caring for patients. The CR2700 can also be paired with a Bluetooth Dongle—providing easy setup and reliable communication with a host PC while allowing the scanner to be charged elsewhere.
